Dario Argento’s Giallo (2009) • Trailer

Synopsis:

The film follows an American stewardess Linda (Emmanuelle Seigner) and Italian detective, Enzo Avolfi (Adrien Brody), who team up in a race against time to find her sister. The sister has been abducted by a maniacal serial killer known only as “Yellow,” who has been disfiguring and is murdering beautiful women.

Oddly, this doesn’t look like an giallo film that I’ve ever seen. Where are the black gloves?!

Unexpected alliances are made when their lives are threatened by the unthinkable.

Yep.  Gangsters vs. Cops vs. Zombies.

Disney x Dali: “Destino”

A collaboration between these two titans, which began in 1946, was completed in 1999, some 50 years later, by Disney’s nephew Roy Edward Disney, using the original storyboards as well as notes taken from the journals kept by Dali’s widow.

Disney and Dali’s original work — a mere 18 seconds of test footage — can be seen starting around 5:17.

As evinced by the copyright notice at the start of the short, this incredible slice of history may not be with us for much longer, so dawdle at your own risk.

Top 50 movie special effects shots

This is not a list of ‘iconic’ SFX shots, such as the opening shot in Star Wars or the final shot in Back To The Future, etc. There are many fantastic SFX shots in cinema history that are artistically ‘awesome’ without qualifying here. For the purposes of this list, a shot has to be either a) exceptionally convincing, b) ground-breaking or c) an exemplary execution of an oft-used technique. Only one shot is allowed per film. SABRE (2009) • Short Film

Sabre is writer/director Adam Green’s (Hatchet) entry intothe Star Wars fan films contest, and a paradoy of all of those Axe Body Spray commercials.

More importantly, it features hot girls cutting each other’s clothes off with lightsabres.
